Team Iridium's Hernandez, Pogues earn wins at UFC Vegas 69

LAS VEGAS — Iridium Sports Agency clients Alexander “The Great Ape” Hernandez and Jamal "The Stormtrooper" Pogues earned impressive victories at UFC Vegas 69 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Once again entering the Octagon on short notice, Alex took home his sixth UFC victory with a unanimous decision over Jim Miller in the lightweight division. Alex improved to 14-6 with the victory. His resume includes six knockouts and two wins by submission.

Jamal was victorious in his UFC debut against Josh Parisian in their heavyweight matchup. That’s now three straight wins for the Contender Series vet, as he improved to 10-3 (four knockouts, one submission).

Also on Saturday, Evan “The Phenom” Elder took home Fight-of-the-Night honors with Nazim Sadykhov for their exciting lightweight bout. Despite being ahead on the scorecards, Evan was defeated when, 38 seconds into the third round, he was cut close to his eye, forcing the doctor to call an end to the action.
